Ian adds the majordomo based (with web interface!) wasto-mailer.
Fixed the duplicate checker for the Person field:
Since hoodr loves this thing, he built a tcl/tk client. Write us if ya need a copy. Anyone
feel like making a Windows client?
Yay! Thanks to hoodr (again), our counter is fixed (I think).
Added the "Got Wasted?" button. If you want to point others here, feel
free to link it to http://www.spaced.net.
Oops! The crontab entry was wrong for the mailer... had to send the
Wasto-Base random sentence mailer out manually. Fixed. Should work
tomorrow.
Added counter to the sentence generator.
Wasto-Base comes to life. Finally got off our asses, after
talking
about "how cool it would be to..." at length, and built the damn thing.
Created the .cgi interface for user-added words. Thanks to hoodr for
help
with the duplicate checking routine in perl.
Ian's random wasted phrase generator happened (the one you see today).
Used one of the few "term for being wasted" along with some other random
people, places and things that we had to come up with on our own - what a
drag.
The first wasted database. Basically lame and just collected "terms for
being wasted".
Case insensitivity
Doesn't check for male/female/etc anymore
Don't worry, the counter is still broken. Any hints?
Since we had to go through and pick the logs for phrases that didn't
exactly fit: Added Clue Guide to help visitors understand the context of
the words that they are entering. Clue Guide, you are our
only hope.
Swaped the order of the Wasted Log radio button and the Place Log radio
button on the ViewBase page. I screwed up and reversed them. doh.
Added a link so you could to this page.
Oh. Set the maxlength=50 for the input fields on the entry .cgi .
Got our first customers. The Wasto-Base served 4945 sentences as of
23:59. The Wasto-Base has been fed well.
The counter is broken. It looks like it can't handle simultaneous hits...
we'll look into that after this beer...
Built the Wasto-Base random sentence mailer. Set to go out at 4:20a.
